Building a Future Through Language: MamynySoa’s Language Club

At Association MamynySoa, we believe in giving children the tools to dream big, explore new opportunities, and build a brighter future. In our rural community, access to quality language education is limited. Public schools teach primarily in Malagasy, our local language, which is vital for preserving our culture and heritage. But we recognize that learning additional languages like French, our official language, and English, the international language, is crucial for broadening horizons, expanding knowledge, and opening doors to global opportunities.

MamynySoa has launched a Language Club where children can explore French and English in a fun, interactive, and welcoming environment. Our sessions are held every Wednesday afternoon at our association’s learning space. During these two-hour meetings, we engage children with songs, games, storytelling, and conversations all designed to make language learning enjoyable and accessible.

Our mission is simple: to make learning languages a playful, engaging, and joyful experience. We want to inspire a lifelong love for languages in our children, helping them build not only language skills but also confidence, curiosity, and a sense of possibility for their futures.

Our Progress So Far

Dring our session, children were full of enthusiasm, and it was heartwarming to see their eagerness to learn and participate. Their smiles, laughter, and the excitement in the room were truly priceless.

Teaching young children can be challenging, but it is one of the most rewarding experiences. The moment they learn a new word, play a language game, or proudly speak in another language it’s those moments that remind me why this work is so important. Early exposure to foreign languages nurtures confidence, sparks curiosity, and helps shape a child’s view of the world.

To show appreciation for their effort, we like to give each child a small biscuit at the end of our sessions. It's a small gesture, but it always brings a smile to their faces and makes our time together even more special.

Looking Ahead: Growing the Language Club

At MamynySoa, we don’t just teach children how to speak French and English. We create an environment where they feel valued, motivated, and inspired to keep learning. Each Wednesday, we gather not only to practice languages but also to foster a sense of community, share stories, and create memories that will stay with the children for a lifetime.

Through this initiative, we aim to show that even in a rural community like ours, children can dream beyond their immediate surroundings and reach for opportunities that will empower them to achieve great things. Every song sung, every game played, and every word learned is a step toward a future filled with hope and possibility.
