The Global Issue of Violence Against Women:

  • Violence against women and girls is a global epidemic that affects millions of lives every year, in every country, community, and culture.

  • It can take many forms physical, emotional, sexual, and economic and often goes unnoticed or unreported due to stigma, fear, or societal norms.

  • According to UN Women, 1 in 3 women worldwide will experience some form of violence in their lifetime.

  • These statistics reflect not just an individual issue, but a systemic problem that affects communities and nations.

The Role of Empowerment in Ending Violence:

  • Empowering women and girls is a fundamental part of eliminating violence. When women are empowered whether through education, financial independence, leadership, or access to legal protections they are more likely to stand up for their rights and live free from violence.

  • Education and awareness are key tools in this empowerment. Through our programs, we work to raise the voices of women and girls and equip them with the skills and resources to protect themselves and others from violence.

  • Empowerment also means creating safe spaces where women and girls can speak openly, share their stories, and seek support. It’s about building communities where violence is no longer tolerated and where every woman and girl can feel valued and respected.
